Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Tax Relief

I work hard - I pay at least my fair share of taxes out of each paycheck... yet I still owe about 1500 dollars each spring to the beloved IRS. In the meantime, a co-worker of mine who makes about the same money as I do, will get about 2 thousand dollars back this spring. We are both single, independent females. So, how does this happen?....

We'll call her "Mimi"... Mimi moved to our fine state of MN from Joliet IL. She made the move, with her family, because "You don't get nothin' for free in IL, but in MN, we can get us some good free stuff, girl!" Mimi will claim her 2 daughters and 2 sons as dependents, as well as her 5 grandchildren, although Mimi doesn't give them a dime - she doesnt' have to. I give them plenty of my money. Her children are all over the age of 21, and all live on the taxpayers dime as it is. 3 live in free housing on welfare, and the other is in prison. So, the taxpayers will pay twice for the priveledge of housing these fine, upstanding citizens (who, if not in prison, sleep all day and "run the streets" all night - as Mimi tells us). Mimi brags about how her "tax man" will get her what she deserves. What she deserves???!!! She's paid a grand total of $420.00 in taxes in 2006. She will get back 2 grand, again.

Mimi is not alone. She brags that everyone in her building does the same thing, and that they are intitled to all the government money they can squeeze. But really, she might as well be holding a gun to my head and robbing me of my $1500.00 that I sure could use. It's the exact same result. Prison is the punishment for the latter.... but for the first... our lovely liberal politicians slather on the reward. I used to believe them... I used to believe they were working for me, the middle class. Democrats are for the middle class? That's the largest myth in our society. I want to shout it from the rooftops: Wake Up!

But instead - I'll be too busy working out a payment plan to the Government....
